When The Owl House premiered on Disney Channel in it became the first-ever Disney show or movie to feature a same-sex couple in leading roles. It also made history by becoming the first Disney animated show to feature two same-sex lead characters kissing. Its representation of the LGBTQ+ community is a core element of the series.
